If you’re looking for a RAM pickup truck that won’t let you down, then you’ve probably narrowed down your list to the All-New RAM vs. RAM 1500 Classic already. Between the two models, which one is truly suited to your needs as a driver? The All-New RAM 1500 delivers a powerful performance with a boost of efficiency from RAM’s eTorque technology, while the affordable RAM 1500 Classic offers more versatility and customization for those with specific needs. Take a look at our truck comparison to find your next vehicle at Bettenhausen CDJR!

Configurations

Depending on your preferences, you might prefer the 2019 RAM 1500 Classic over the 2019 RAM 1500 specs. Both lineups offer your choice of quad or crew cab, as well as 6-foot 4-inch and 5-foot 7-inch bed lengths. But if you need a little extra space, the 2019 RAM 1500 Classic is also available with an 8-foot bed length for oversized cargo. The Classic also offers a regular cab length, which isn’t an option on the all-new 2019 RAM 1500. While most drivers would be happy with the options from either lineup, some may need the extra capacity offered by the RAM 1500 Classic.

Performance

Both models start with a 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine with 305 hp, which is plenty of pep to accomplish a tough task. But the All-New RAM has more robust engine options with a maximum towing capacity of 12,750 pounds! Of course, the RAM Classic is no slouch either with its 10,710-pound capacity, but for truly tough jobs, you might need the strength of the All-New RAM. Many engines in the All-New RAM lineup also include eTorque to boost fuel efficiency, resulting in a few extra miles per gallon in city traffic compared to the RAM Classic. However, the RAM Classic does boast a lower starting MSRP of over $4,000. Depending on your performance needs, you might prefer the affordability of the RAM Classic over the extra capabilities of the All-New RAM.
