What Exactly Is the Active Driver Assist Feature?

The Active Driver Assist system (ADAS) is a type of autonomous driving technology introduced on the Grand Cherokee L, Wagoneer, and Grand Wagoneer trims. This feature helps Mokena drivers with various driving and parking functions, using multiple exterior cameras to view your surroundings. These cameras are able to detect any obstacles on the Tinley Park roads and respond immediately.

It’s a known fact that most of the accidents on the roads today are due solely to human error. That’s why this system is so critical, as it helps keep us and other drivers safe on the Tinley Park road.

Which Jeep Models Have Active Driving Assist?

So, which Jeep models have Active Driving Assist? Currently, Active Driving Assist is available on the new Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Wagoneer, and Grand Wagoneer models. This cutting-edge technology adds even more features to an already impressive lineup of vehicles.

Active Driving Assist Suite of Features

There are quite a few features included in the Active Driving Assist package to help you stay safe on the Tinley Park roads. Let’s take a look at some of the features in more detail below so you know what to expect:

Active Driving Assist: This feature is Jeep’s Level 2 automated driving technology, and is offered on the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer models. This system includes lane-centering control, made possible through various sensors and cameras on the exterior of the vehicle.

Hands-free Active Driving Assist: This is slated to begin to appear on 2022 model year vehicles, and also provides lane-centering, however, the driver still must be alert in case they need to take the wheel. These features will also detect things such as tight curves, and slow down the vehicle accordingly.

Intersection Collision Assist: This system provides extra peace of mind at intersections by detecting potential collisions, and providing audible and visual alerts to the driver to take action. If the driver fails to take appropriate action, the vehicle will automatically apply the brakes to avoid potential collisions. This comes standard on Grand Wagoneer models and can be added as an option on the standard Wagoneer.

ParkSense Automated Parking System: This is often one of the most helpful Active Driving Assist features, as it helps drivers safely park their vehicles. This allows the vehicle to enter a parking space with little input from the driver. This feature also uses a series of cameras and sensors to operate. The driver can keep an eye on everything through the backup camera, which is activated when the vehicle shifts into reverse.

Night Vision Camera: The Night Vision camera uses thermographic technology to scan 656 feet in front of the vehicle, detecting any type of hazards on the road.
